Cookie policy
Use of cookies and similar technologies
This policy describes the cookies and similar technologies used on the website il-palazzo.com, the purposes for which they are used, and how the data subject gives, changes or withdraws consent. It supplements the privacy policy, which governs the processing of personal data as a whole.
1. Definition
A cookie is a file which a website stores in the user’s terminal equipment on a visit and accesses on a subsequent visit. Similar technologies include browser local storage and other forms of storing data on the user’s device.
2. Legal basis
Storing information in a user’s terminal equipment, and gaining access to information already stored there, is permitted only with the user’s prior consent, except where it is strictly necessary for the transmission of a communication or in order to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. This obligation arises from Directive 2002/58/EC concerning privacy and electronic communications, transposed into Croatian law by the Electronic Communications Act (Official Gazette No 76/22), while the conditions for valid consent are governed by Article 7 GDPR.
3. Position before consent is given
Until consent is given, the website stores no cookies and sends no requests to third-party servers. Neither Google Analytics nor Google Maps is loaded.
Refusing consent does not affect access to the content: the menu, prices, opening hours, the gallery and the reservation link all remain fully available.
4. Record of consent
The user’s decision is stored in browser local storage under the key ilp-privola. That
record is not a cookie, is not transmitted to any server and does not leave the user’s
device. Its sole purpose is to avoid asking for consent again on every page.
5. List of cookies
Once consent has been given, the following cookies are set. All of them are analytics cookies and all are set and read by Google Ireland Limited in accordance with its own policies.

6. Third-party content
A Google Maps map is embedded on the contact page. The map does not load automatically. A button is displayed in its place and the map loads only once the user selects it. Loading the map may cause Google to store its own cookies in the user’s terminal equipment.
7. Changing and withdrawing consent
A Cookie settings link is provided in the footer of every page. Selecting that link displays the cookie notice again, allowing the user to change or withdraw consent previously given. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
Cookies already stored can be deleted by the user in their browser settings, where they can also be blocked in advance. Blocking cookies in the browser does not affect access to the content of this website.
8. Amendments to this policy
The list in section 5 is updated whenever the tools used on the website change.
